D&D Sessions – Lost Mine of Phandelver Episode 19 Out of Darkness

24-25 Flamerule – 1490 – Year of the Star Walker’s Return

After much rest, the party chiselled the Forge of Spells out of its stone pedestal, and carried it on Jortran’s back in Horse form to the main entrance where the dwarves had originally made their camp. After hiding it there they set back out into the mines to check any last corridors they hadn’t yet investigated. In an old barracks they battled a large contingent of restless spirits in the form of skeletons, and in another small room strewn with ancient dead they found what seemed to be the office where miners were paid for their work. Here they discovered a locked strong box full of coin.

After defeating two large ochre jellies that were feasting on the corpse of a bugbear, they ascertained that the mines were finally cleared out, with the exception of the room full of fungi. They dragged the Forge out of the caves and into Tristan’s wagon, and then set out for town, arriving late at night.

As they reached the town, they noticed that work had begun on guard posts where the roads entered. It seemed the townfolk had begun work on their palisade. As they made their way through the streets, they saw Sister Garaelle, who turned away from them without a word. At the Stonehill inn they hid the forge in the stables, where Tristan kept it company through the night while the others rested in their rooms. When morning came, the group met with an excited Gundren and Nundro, who were eager to hear about their adventure in the mines. Here we left our heroes as they enjoyed breakfast and prepared for the day.

About The October Geek

Yes, I am the October Geek. I exist in the crisp breeze of an autumn evening when you are walking down that gravel path under swaying trees of red, orange and gold. I am the smoke that curls in the air from chimneys, and the laugh of a child in the distance as the sun hits the horizon and dazzles you with dying light. I am a man who loves all things Autumn, and most especially Hallowe'en. I am a geek who loves to play games, read books, watch movies, and generally be a grognard. I am the husband of a geek and a father to one jock, one bohemian geek, and one young geek in training. On The October Geek I will attempt to entertain and interact with those of you who share these delights. I will post reviews of things Autumnal and Geeky. I will post stories. I will eventually even be posting videos and pod casts. This is my experiment, let's see how I do.
